Commenting on the strong momentum generated by recent housing campaigns in the real estate sector, Erden Timur, Chairman of Nef, said: “As Nef, we achieved TRY 254 million in property sales over the past 16 days. Our total revenue for the period between 1 January and 15 June has exceeded TRY 610 million.” Timur noted that the recent industry-wide campaigns have significantly increased market activity, contributing to renewed demand and sales across the real estate sector.
Nef Delivers a Boost to the Real Estate Sector with TRY 254 Million in Sales in Just 16 Days
Commenting on the renewed momentum in Türkiye’s real estate market, Erden Timur, Chairman of Nef, announced:
“As Nef, we achieved TRY 254 million in sales over the past 16 days. Our total revenue between 1 January and 15 June has exceeded TRY 610 million.”
The recent government-backed housing campaigns have significantly accelerated activity across the branded residential sector. Offering incentives such as subsidized mortgage rates and deferred payment options, the initiatives encouraged many buyers to bring forward purchasing decisions that had been postponed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Erden Timur:
“The housing support campaign—offering first-hand homes with up to 12 months payment deferral, 15-year financing, and mortgage rates starting from 0.64% per month—has truly given the sector new momentum. We would like to thank the country’s economic administration for these measures. Real estate is one of Türkiye’s key economic drivers, supporting nearly 200 related industries. Even compared to the strongest years of three or four years ago, the current period has surpassed expectations. In just 16 days, Nef generated TRY 254 million in sales through 202 residential units, clearly demonstrating the extraordinary level of market activity.”
Revenue Targets Revised Upward
Reflecting on the strong performance during the first half of the year, Timur noted:
“We initially entered the year with a revenue target of TRY 1 billion. Given our current performance, we are revising that target upward.”
Nef Online Generates TRY 52 Million in Digital Sales
Selçuk Çelik, Member of the Executive Board at Nef, highlighted the company’s investment in digital sales technologies:
“Over the past several years, we have made significant investments in digital marketing, and during the pandemic those investments proved invaluable. Through Nef Online, customers can join video consultations without downloading any additional software, explore every detail of our projects, review floor plans, virtually tour our model apartments and our signature Foldhome spaces, receive personalized payment plans from sales consultants, complete secure online transactions, and purchase a home entirely online.”
Unlike conventional video conferencing platforms, Nef Online was developed as a fully integrated and secure digital sales office specifically for the real estate sector.
Between mid-March and mid-May, the platform hosted more than 900 virtual presentations, generating TRY 52 million in property sales.
Foldhome Meets the Needs of the “New Normal”
Timur also noted changing buyer preferences following the pandemic:
“The new normal has significantly increased demand for detached homes, private gardens, spacious balconies, and outdoor living areas where social distancing is easier to maintain. The rise of remote working and reduced international travel have also increased interest in destinations such as Bodrum. While COVID-19 affected purchasing power, it also created new consumer needs that drive innovation. Our Foldhome concept already incorporates many of the features people now value most in post-pandemic living, and this has contributed significantly to our strong sales performance.”
Residential Sales Expected to Surpass the Previous Year
Nef participated in the national housing campaign with its Nef Bahçelievler and Nef Sancaktepe projects.
Timur added:
“Homes eligible for financing up to TRY 750,000 have experienced particularly strong demand, but the campaign has stimulated the entire market. If this momentum continues, the slowdown experienced in April and May can be fully recovered, allowing annual residential sales to exceed last year’s total by at least 5%.”
Nearly 2,000 Homes to Be Delivered
While maintaining strong sales performance, Nef also continued executing its delivery schedule despite the pandemic.
Timur explained:
“Although supply chain disruptions caused some delays on our construction sites, work never stopped. We have already begun delivering homes at Nef Sancaktepe, Nef Çekmeköy, Nef Reserve Yalıkavak, and İnistanbul Konsept. During this period, we are delivering nearly 2,000 residences simultaneously. We also expect to begin phased deliveries at Nef Bahçelievler in October 2020. With these projects completed, the total number of homes delivered by Nef over the past five years will exceed 8,000.”
Expansion into Student Housing and Regional Developments
Highlighting the company’s broader investment strategy, Timur noted that Nef has been diversifying beyond residential real estate for several years.
Its Novu Merter student residence, with 1,000 beds, has been operating successfully for four years. New Novu projects are currently under development in Sütlüce and Kağıthane, while additional student housing and residential projects are planned for cities including Eskişehir, Yalova, Kocaeli, and Sakarya.
Nef aims to expand the Novu student accommodation brand to 10 cities by 2023.
54,000 Square Meters of Serviced Land Sold in Three Months
Timur also highlighted the performance of Nef City 82, the company’s serviced land development initiative.
After launching its first project near Hirfanlı Dam in Kaman, Kırşehir, Nef sold 54,000 square meters of serviced land within just three months.
Unlike the majority of land investments in Türkiye, which often involve undeveloped plots without infrastructure, Nef focuses on fully master-planned, serviced land developments with completed urban planning and infrastructure. Buyers also have the option of constructing either modular or conventional homes on their purchased plots.
Continued Support Through the Nef Foundation
Throughout the pandemic, the Nef Foundation continued expanding its social initiatives.
Following the outbreak of COVID-19, the Foundation established a dedicated Pandemic Advisory Board and Project Executive Committee, producing protective face shields, intubation booths, sample collection booths, disinfection stations, antibacterial coveralls, and protective gowns.
More than 1.5 million medical supplies were distributed to over 600 hospitals across 82 provinces.
The Foundation also partnered with İhtiyaç Haritası (Needs Map) to launch the BirlikteKart (Together Card) initiative, designed to support low-income families during the pandemic. The card can be used at any business equipped with a POS terminal for purchases related to food, hygiene products, and pharmacy needs, with the first 10,000 cards funded directly by the Nef Foundation.
